Cherepish Monastery Assumption

The monastery dates back to the Second Bulgarian Kingdom during the reign of Tsar Ivan Shishman. A cell school was established next to it, where books, biographies and gospels were written and transcribed. Relics such as the Gospel of the Tile, bound in 1512 with gold covers and decorated with biblical scenes, date from that time. In 1797, St. Sophrony of Vratsa took refuge in the Assumption of the Virgin.
In the monastery you will see a museum corner of the poet Ivan Vazov, a chapel - ossuary, Rushid's house and the church "St. George".

How to get there: 30 km. from the town of Vratsa to the town of Sofia through the Iskar Gorge.
