According to local legend, the church "St. Nativity of the Mother of God ”was built in the sunniest place. The church is a typical medieval one-apse church. It dates from 1492. It is located in the Staro Selo neighborhood, 2 km from the village of Milanovo, amidst beautiful and preserved nature. The construction is made of quarry stones, welded with mortar. The frescoes covered the entire interior of the church, but later renovation work, some of them were destroyed. The church is an artistic cultural monument of national importance.
In 2015 - 2017, the Sofia District Administration and the Directorate of the Vratsa Balkan National Park implemented the project "The Temple of Family Memory" Conservation, restoration and exhibition of the church "St. Nativity of the Mother of God "- Milanovo village, Svoge municipality". The entire roof of the church and the stone slabs have been completely restored. Restoration works have been carried out on the iconostasis, frescoes and icons.
