The monument is an octagonal cross erected on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the feat of Botev's detachment. Every year at the foot of Okolchitsa peak are held the traditional celebrations on June 2. Hristo Botev's place of death is 2 km away in the Yolkovitsa area. The monument is located in the protected area Vola with an area of 96.2 ha. The site can be visited by tourists all year round.
How to get there: 22 km. from the town of Vratsa on an asphalt road through the village of Pavolche and the village of Chelopek.

The highway reaches directly to the monument. There is no functioning restaurant or accommodation in the area. Take food and water with you in advance.
